A lot of people who are working on their personal development and growth have big dreams and big goals and that is great.
However, it can become a problem when your dreams are so big that it stresses you out and leads you to inaction - not an uncommon problem. If big picture thinking is crippling you, then aim lower and focus on small actions you can take today to move you further down the road on your journey. Your growth will come from your action and not your thinking.

I totally agree with you. Most of anxiety problems are brought by unrealistic goals that we set for ourselves. It's normal for people to have a dream that they want to pursue. To be able to pursue that dream, we tend to make a goal to achieve our dreams. But some people are being hard to themselves, they set a high goal that they know they can't really achieve. They end up stressed and filled with anxiety because of the deadlines that they gave to themselves. I think we should be easy to ourselves and set an achievable goal. Reach our dreams one at a time, gradually.

Big goals can be great unless they are overwhelming. In which case it can be beneficial to zoom in on today's goals. Or this week's goals.

I have no plans of hanging myself. I had a weird dream again that I took poison. I guess it's a painless way to die. It won't make you ugly. All my life I wanted so much to be beautiful and I don't want to die ugly. I don't mind not being beautiful as long as I am not ugly. I am going to repeat. I don't want to be ugly. I am so tired of being ugly. Maybe if I keep saying it, it will come true. One day I will never be ugly anymore and I don't just mean this figuratively.
